4/28/12 Join the Water Conservation Garden, Cuyamaca College's Ornamental Horticulture Department, and the Heritage of the Americas Museum as we celebrate the spring season with "Urban Farming." The college will host its biggest plant sale of the year, and the Garden will buzz with experts, workshops and exhibits that will empower visitors to create the drought tolerant landscape of their dreams. The Museum will open its doors free of charge so the public can discover arts, crafts, and history from the Americas. Other activities include animal exhibits, musical guests, dancers, kids’ activities, an international food court, and a raffle chock full of exciting prizes.
Admission is free.
4/28/12 – 4/29/12 San Diego's original, Mission Federal ArtWalk is the largest art event in San Diego. More than 400 visual artists from all over the world show and sell their art. Live music and dance stages, interactive art for children and the picturesque background of hip and historic Little Italy make this event a must-do every spring in San Diego.

4/15/12 The Port of San Diego's 33rd annual celebration of the beginning of the sportfishing season, Day at the Docks, will take place on April 15 from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on the waterfront at San Diego's Sportfishing Landings, Harbor Dr. at Scott Street in Pt. Loma. Admission and parking are free. Parking is on Shelter Island with free, frequent shuttles to and from the festival.
Day at the Docks showcases the world's largest, most modern sportfishing fleet at America's Cup Harbor on San Diego Bay. Many of the vessels will be open for inspection and others will offer introductory boat rides on the bay for $2 per person.
There are day-long activities for the entire family. More than 200 exhibits, staffed by experts in their respective fields, will display fishing tackle, marine art, clothing, accessories, services, and more. There will be raffles of thousands of dollars of fishing equipment donated by sponsors and exhibitors plus live entertainment by some of San Diego's finest. There will also be a casting competition, a Captains' Dunk Tank, plus kid's fishing and art contests.

4/12/12 – 4/15/12 Springtime in San Diego can only mean one thing - Art Alive at The San Diego Museum of Art. Each year floral designers are invited into the galleries to interpret some of the greatest art in San Diego's collection. Masterpieces from world-renowned artists such as El Greco, Degas, Monet, and Renior can be seen side by side their floral doubles. This four day celebration include an array of festive events, including: an opening celebration, flowers after hours, garden of activities for children and family, and floral lectures and workshops by notable artists.
